Relationship Break Up Advice – Deciding Whether Or Not To End It
|
You have been with your partner for a long time; however, over the past few months, the relationship just doesn’t seem as satisfying as it was at first. You know that relationships grow and change as we grow; however, you feel there is a lot more wrong than just the usual changes.
You are thinking that maybe you and your partner need to move on, but you aren’t quite sure if that is definitely the case. Here is some relationship breakup advice that may help you and your partner decide whether or not to move on to better things.
First, take a good, long, honest look at your relationship. Ask yourself if you and your partner are happy. If neither of you are happy together, it’s probably time to call the relationship quits. If one person is happy, ask yourself if it is because the other is doing all the work on the relationship. If you find you are the one making all the compromises and doing all you can to make your partner happy, while your partner is reaping the benefits without putting forth the same efforts, you may want to go ahead and call it quits.
Next piece of relationship break up advice – how much communication is there in the relationship? Can you talk to your partner? If you feel like the lines of communication are down, what caused this to happen? Was there a time when the communication was better? If so, what was different then? While it has been said that familiarity breeds contempt, a lack of familiarity can breed discontent.
It is important that you talk to your partner about your hopes, fears, dreams and wishes. It is also equally important that you listen to your partner’s hopes, fears, dreams and wishes. If you cannot communicate with each other (or every time you try to communicate it ends in an argument), this is a sign that this relationship is not the one for either of you.
