Bringing Balance Between Who You Think You Are And How Others Perceive You

* Look for happiness, joy and the “good” everywhere – in situations, places, people, etc.

* “Offer joyful commentary whenever possible.”

* Be cheerful most, if not all, of the time; initially, you may have to force yourself to do it, even fake it, but, over time, you will find that it comes more naturally.

* Rather than constantly talk about evils and atrocities in the evil – and, let’s face it, there really is A LOT of evil all around, and it can get rather depressing to harp on it – practice positive thinking, and be grateful and appreciative of every good thing. An attitude of gratitude can bring much joy and happiness!

* Learn to, quite literally, ooze and radiate joy. Others will feel it, and they will love you for it.

Most of us would like to think that we are non judgmental persons. But if you have the tendency to generalize, such as saying that all women are so and so, or that all Caucasians are like this or like that, then that is stereotyping – and a stereotype is a judgment of sorts.

Try these steps:

* Look for the good, positive traits, etc, in other people.

* Rather than criticize, try to compliment and affirm others.

* Abandon stereotypes and judgmental conversations.

* Most of us have the habit of zooming in on things we don’t like; why not try, instead, to deliberately focus on things which please you?

* Someone may look hideous, but rather than allow such a thought to take root in your mind, which then has the potential to attract more negative thoughts, why not say a quiet prayer for the person?
