Friendship Crafts Can Make Wonderful Homemade Gifts For Friends
|
Among the nicest gifts friends can exchange with each other are ones that they have made themselves.
You don’t need a special occasion to give friendship crafts, but Friendship Day is always the first Sunday in August, so you could surprise your friends with a homemade gift that you have made in the spirit of friendship and love.
One great idea for a friendship craft is to make a Friendship or Circle of Friends Book. You can begin by purchasing a large binder that either already has a design on the cover or one that you are able to decorate yourself. You could draw a large circle, divide it into equal segments and write your friends’ names in the spaces. Begin with your own name and have each participant write their name in as the journal comes to them to be filled with decorated pages.
Each page should have a photo or two along with a quotation, verse or a favorite saying from each contributor. Don’t forget to make a checklist with everyone’s name and address on so that the book keeps circulating until it comes back to you – you will have put your name at the end of the list – and once each of your friends has finished with her memory pages, the book will come back to you. This works really well if the circle of friends live reasonably close to one another and are able to get together to admire and make suggestions as to how it should look, but if you are all far apart, it becomes even more important as you share your memories. These are the best, and you will have so many to share that you will probably end up having more than one Friendship Book!
A personalized gift basket would put your friendship craft skills to good use. Decorate the basket using a theme that your friend can relate to; someone who knits might appreciate a gift basket with yarn, needles and the instructions for an afghan; the scrapbook enthusiast would love some fancy papers to work with, along with decorative punches and stickers.
