Going Through The 7 Stages Of Grief

Stage five of the 7 stages of grief is when you start seeing a turn in your mood and level of acceptance. You may still be experiencing anger, guilt or depression, but you are becoming more able to cope with the feelings. You are working through the negative emotions that always accompany a loss and are starting to move forward.

Stage six is a more advanced level of stage five where you are actively working through the grief process. During this stage, you find yourself experiencing more good days than bad. You have been able to identify your emotions and have started working on putting your life back together.

The final stage of the 7 stages of grief is the stage of acceptance. During this stage, you have learned to accept the event that has caused your grief. You realize that the event was out of your control and that you were not to blame. You have learned to deal with the loss in a way that does not impact your daily life. During this phase, you will still experience feelings of loss and sadness; however, you also have hope for your future.

The stages of grief are unique to each individual. During the grieving process, you may go through all the 7 stages of grief. You may also backtrack and go through certain stages more than once.

As you move through the stages of grief, you become stronger and more able to cope with your loss. If you find you are not able to deal with your loss on your own, you can get professional help. Grief does not have to stop your life. By understanding the 7 stages of grief, you will know that the feelings you have are normal and will pass.
